Dr Risako Sakurai

Dr Risako is a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, qualified in both Australia and Japan. Before relocating to Melbourne, she worked as a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Tokyo, focusing on complex gynaecological and obstetric care. She holds a PhD in Medical Research and has delivered international presentations.

She later undertook advanced training in Melbourne, gaining Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). Her dual international training allows her to bring a unique, globally informed perspective to women’s health.

Risako strives to provide expert, patient-centred gynaecological care. Her clinical interests include menstrual and hormonal disorders, contraception, menopause, endometriosis, and minimally invasive surgery. She values clear communication and culturally sensitive care, ensuring each patient feels heard, respected, and supported throughout their treatment journey.
